I was inspired to start Our Angels because I lost my own son at 5 months pregnant and I felt very alone. Infant and child loss is not something that is really talked about but it is something that many people go through and I wanted to create something to bring those families together and help them through their grief while introducing them to a supporting group of people that have experienced similar situations.
In late 2024 I experienced the devastating loss of my son Gavin. My water broke and I went into labor at only 5 months pregnant and was forced to deliver my child. It was an extremely difficult delivery and even harder coming to terms with the sudden loss. I felt alone and isolated in this situation and although there were some online supports available there were no in person supports or groups that specialized in this type of loss. I have been working in social services for the last few years and have always been compelled to help others. After suffering this loss and realizing how little support there is in our community surrounding infant/child loss it inspired me to be the change
